Each year Creative New Zealand provides funding to Wellington City Council to distribute grants via the Creative Communities Funding Scheme.
Our panel is made up of individuals working in the cultural and arts sectors in the city, and have knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas: music, ngā toi Māori, Pacific arts, theatre, visual arts, craft/object art, etc.
We have two funding rounds every year, closing at the end of August and February. More information about the scheme can be found on our website, which also includes a list of past grants.
In addition to attending a number of weekday committee meetings, panel members read applications online (there can be 40 or 50 applications), mark their scores and send these back prior to the meeting. The next funding round closes at the end of August with a panel meeting in early October.
If you are interested in applying for the panel, and there is no conflict of interest with grant applications, please send a short nomination email outlining the areas of expertise and skills you could contribute, as well as a short CV.
For further information or an informal discussion please call Mark Farrar from Council's Funding team on 04 803 8525 or email funding@wcc.govt.nz. Nominations close on Friday 12 August 2016.
