Creative Capital Arts Trust in partnership with Wellington City Council brings CubaDupa back for its second year. From Saturday 19 (midday to midnight) until Sunday 20 (midday to 5pm) the Cuba Quarter will be transformed into a magical interactive playground of delight, sound and taste.

Over the CubaDupa weekend, road closures and parking restrictions will be in place from 11pm on Friday 18 March to 5am on Monday 21 March.

Roads will be open to pedestrians from Manners Street up to Karo Drive and between Taranaki and Victoria streets (with the exception of Vivian Street).

After 10am on Saturday 19 March, the following streets will be closed to ensure the safety of people within the zone: Dixon Street, Ghuznee Street, Garrett Street, Cuba Street and Abel Smith Street. There will be restricted access for businesses and residents from 5am to 10am on both Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March.

Limited resident vehicle access will be available to people who park in Abel Smith Street, Tonks Grove, Marion Street (via Vivian Street), Egmont Street (via Ghuznee Street), Furness Lane and Christeson Lane.

If you are planning to drive into the central city, allow plenty of time for travelling in and around Wellington, or leave the car at home and catch the bus or train.

If travelling by bicycle then come down to CubaDupa’s Bicycle Leisure Park in Marion Street. There’ll be VIP valet parking for your bike while you enjoy the festival.

Drawing on the creative spirit of the city’s most iconic street and the Wellington community, the place will come alive with a myriad of dance, music, theatre, live street art, carnival, circus, and street food.
