Getting there

As with all popular events around the city, we encourage as many people as possible to take public transport, walk, bike or scoot to Gardens Magic.

There won't be any road closures for these events.

Check out the different ways of getting to the Botanic Garden on our transport website. This includes walking, car parking, biking, bus, and Cable Car information.

Public transport

The number 2 bus is a great way to get to the Botanic Garden. It stops right outside the main entrance and runs every 7 minutes.

Metlink train, bus, ferry and Cable car schedules

Alternatively, take the opportunity to walk up from the central city and smell the roses on the way as you pass through the Bolton Street Cemetery and Rose Garden. Or Cable Car up and stroll down through the gardens. Cable cars depart every 10 minutes from Cable Car Lane off Lambton Quay.
