What happened to this consultation?

We asked for your feedback on these proposed changes to the Island Bay cycleway between Shorland Park and Wakefield Park:

− creating approximately 3km of kerbside cycle lanes that continue through all intersections
− creating cycle bypasses at nine bus stops
− creating new pedestrian crossings at Humber and Mersey streets
− keeping most right-turning lanes at busier intersections
− installing new traffic lights at the Dee Street intersection
− adding some additional parking on side streets.

Next steps

The Transport and Urban Development Committee will meet on 3 December 2014 to consider the submissions and next steps. The Committee will decide whether the scheme is to proceed and if so, what elements will be included.

The Parade’s cycle lanes are part of the proposed Island Bay to City Route cycleway, which is being planned in four sections.
