Erskine College in Island Bay has stood over 100 years. It is a Category 1 Historic Place & has touched the lives of thousands of people through its life. Now this vital piece of our heritage is in threat of being demolished
We ask that the WCC does everything in its power to avoid the Main Block and Chapel's demolition & ensure that strengthening & restoration is carried out, in a way respectful to the site's heritage.
Lets save this legacy for future generations, because once it's gone, it's gone forever.
Background information
The Erskine College's Main Block and Chapel were red-stickered as unsafe for occupation in April, and must be earthquake strengthened or face demolition.
Erskine is a Category 1 Historic Place and has a Heritage Order in place on it, held by the Save Erskine College Trust.
This e-petition will be supplemented by a paper petition with the same goal.
