To be approved for Responsible Dog owner status, please confirm you have met all of the the following conditions:

I comply with Wellington Consolidated bylaws relating to dogs.

All areas of my property that my dog/s have access to are fenced and gated or otherwise fully contained.

Any of my dogs kept outside are housed in approved weatherproof and hygienic kennels.

Please confirm all of the following are true for you:

I have not been convicted under the Dog Control Act 1996 or Animal Welfare Act.

I have not been classified as a probationary or disqualified dog owner.

I have not received an infringement notice for the behaviour of an animal in my care within the past year.

I have not had a dog impounded in the past year.

I have not had a substantiated public complaint about the behaviour of an animal in my care in the past year.

Fees

The fee for RDO status is $61.00.

This fee is a one-off payment to cover the cost of processing.
This fee is in addition to the annual dog registration fee and is not refundable if your application is unsuccessful.
