Paying your rent

An automatic payment or redirection order is the preferred way to pay your Council rent. You can also pay your rent with your barcoded invoice or rent payment card at your local PostShop.

Automatic payment

Automatic payment is the most common way to pay your rent. To arrange an automatic payment, you will need the following details:

  • Name of bank - ANZ
  • Branch - Manners Street
  • Name of account - Wellington City Council
  • Bank / Branch / Account number / Suffix - 06 0582 0106111 00
  • Code - RENT
  • Reference - your payment reference code

Your payment reference code is very important. To confirm your payment reference, contact:

Paying cash at the Service Centre

If you need to pay your rent in cash, you can do so at the Council's Service Centre, 12 Manners Street.

Paying by cash or EFTPOS at PostShops

Take your rent payment card or barcoded invoice to your local PostShop.

Receipts

The Council and your local PostShop will give you a receipt when you pay your rent. If you use automatic payment, your bank statement can be used as proof of payment.
