Beach wheelchair

We’ve got a beach wheelchair available for use and you can borrow it for a full day from Freyberg pool, 139 Oriental Parade. It's free of charge, and you can use it to travel on the sand and in the water at Oriental Bay.

You’ll need to show ID, and it’s best to book ahead of time. Phone 04 801 4530 for more information or to book.

Free mobility scooters available

City Mobility is a Wellington City Council and TSB Bank project providing free mobility scooters to help people enjoy some of the venues in Wellington City.

The scooters are safe and easy to use. Trained staff will show you how. The scooters are available to anyone aged 18 years or over who has limited mobility, from wheelchair users to the elderly. You're even eligible with a broken leg.

Scooter use is free. No payment is required, you just need to show some form of ID. You can book a scooter for up to 4 hours. Advance bookings are recommended.
