The Wellington Good Food Boost

This programme enhances the profile of Wellington as the sustainable culinary capital and New Zealand’s foodie destination.

The Good Food Boost programme has been suspended for 2021. We will post more information about 2022 in the coming future.

Do you know any fledgling sustainable food businesses that want a boost?

The Wellington Good Food Boost is a competition and mentoring programme that supports new businesses working to improve New Zealand’s food system. The Good Food Boost is run by the Sustainable Business Network (SBN). Wellington City Council partners with SBN to bring it to Wellington, with support from WellingtonNZ.

Four businesses are chosen to join an exciting 8-week programme of support and guidance from leading industry mentors – giving their businesses a significant boost.

The programme includes:

  • four fortnightly mentoring sessions from experts in food and business development
  • tips and inspiration on how to develop a tasty product that looks good, sells well and endures the test of time
  • session with the FoodBowl or NZ Food Innovation Network's FoodPilot project
  • one on one business development session with WellingtonNZ.

Good food means considering more than just your bottom line of profits. It’s thinking about where food comes from, how it’s grown and made, distribution, and waste products. Our Good Food Boost programme provides a mentoring system that gives support and fast-tracks the growth of good food businesses, improving our food systems for now and into the future.
