About the project
Construction is set to begin Monday 11 September 2023 and is due to finish mid-November.
These works involve the installation of a Steel Anchored Mesh retaining wall and involve work on the associated footpaths.
Retaining and Civil Construction Limited have been contracted to do these works and will be onsite Monday to Friday between 7am - 6pm for their duration.
Traffic management
Mortimer Terrace will remain open for vehicle, cyclist and pedestrian access for most of the project’s duration, with the carriage reduced to a single-lane priority give way system under a reduced speed limit.
However, there will be a three-week period at the start of the project, where the road from #94-100 will be closed during work hours (9am - 4pm) to accommodate heavy plant/machinery requirements on the road. During this road closure period (11th September - 1st October) the contractor will only be able to accommodate critical services (emergency Fire, Ambulance, police etc), arrangement will need to be made for all other services (private waste collection, deliveries etc).
The footpath opposite #94-100 will stay open for residents and the public. Access past the work site for effected property owners will be accommodated during normal work hours.
Please note – the car park area opposite #70 Mortimer Terrace will be unavailable for the duration of the project 24/7. Any vehicles obstructing work areas or traffic, may be towed to a nearby suitable area. If you can’t find your vehicle during these works, contact our call centre at 04 499 4444.
