Lyall Parade seawall renewal works

We are completing seawall underpinning and stormwater upgrade works opposite 106 – 132 Lyall Parade, Lyall Bay.

About the project

Construction is underway and is due to finish early November.

It involves completion of seawall rendering, stormwater manhole and pipes replacement with associated seawall strengthening. We will install a new beach outflow pipe with pile foundations and do stabilisation planting on the beach.

Wellington City Council has contracted Fulton Hogan Limited to do this work. They will be onsite Monday to Friday between 7am - 5pm.

Pedestrian access

Stormwater upgrade: the footpath opposite 106 – 122 Lyall Parade will be closed during working hours for the stormwater upgrade and seawall strengthening related works. A pedestrian detour will guide pedestrian across the road and back.

Seawall rendering works: there will be a reduced footpath width, pedestrians will be navigated past the site.

Traffic management

During the course of construction, traffic management will be operational around the worksite. Please note, any vehicles obstructing work areas or traffic, may be towed to a nearby suitable area. If your vehicle is not where you parked it, please call the contractor (Fulton Hogan Ltd. details below).

All works will be carried out under reduced speed limits.

Don’t park your vehicle within the construction area on the day/s we are due to work. Please make sure vehicles are parked clear of the isolated construction area during these times - this will mean we are able to set up our work site and do the work as quickly as possible. Parked vehicles need to be towed and this delays us starting work. If you are unsure if you need to move your vehicle, or if you have any queries, please contact the contractor on site.

Deliveries, taxis and trades. If you are expecting a courier, a rideshare, taxi or a tradesperson to arrive when we are working, let us know and we will do our best to make sure they can reach your property.
