Laneways are small-scale connections within large city blocks that connect pedestrians to shorter and more attractive routes. Laneway projects are part of a bigger plan to transform the city centre into a walkable capital.
Bond Street got a refresh and a pop-up community garden in May 2016 – for all to enjoy, all year round.
We’ve upgraded the laneway connecting Lower Cuba and Bond Streets as part of the laneways project.
Egmont Street has been upgraded and transformed as part of the laneways project.
Parts of Eva and Leeds streets and Hannah's Courtyard have been improved to create a safer, more inviting environment.
We are upgrading Farmers Lane with new seating and planting.
We are working to regenerate Forresters Lane into a safe, vibrant and inviting space.
This project is delayed while we work towards creating a better public space for everyone to enjoy.
Lombard Laneway is our newest laneway project connecting Manners and Victoria streets at the eastern end of Bond Street.
Work was undertaken to transform this important pedestrian link between Lambton Quay and The Terrace.
We’re creating a laneway that runs across Cuba Street and connects Swan Lane and Garrett Street.
