Horokiwi Road bank remediation

We are constructing an anchored timber pole retaining wall to remediate a road bank.

About the project

This new anchored timber pole retaining wall will ensure Horokiwi Road is safer and more resilient for residents, road users and pedestrians.

Work will take place approximately 140 metres East of the Horokiwi Quarry Entrance.

Construction beings on Monday 18 July 2022 and is expected to be completed in September 2022.

Work will be carried out by Retaining and Civil Construction Ltd.

Traffic management

Construction hours will be Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm, with some night works later in the project.

We will need to close one lane at times around the worksite using manual Stop/Go.

Some drilling works will be undertaken on night shifts using traffic lights to minimise impact of traffic during the day.

Two lanes will remain open with a reduced speed limit for the majority of the works.

In the event of unsuitable weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the construction work may be delayed.

We will notify all residents of any changes as the project progresses.
