Council earthquake-strengthening projects that have been completed.
Quake strengthening work finished in June 2014 at Brooklyn Library on Cleveland Street.
Earthquake strengthening of the Clarrie Gibbons building in Post Office Square was completed in October 2014.
Strengthening work and fire safety improvements were completed at Newtown Library Flats in January 2015.
Contractors completed work on the Portico site in June 2015 to make the civic campus stronger and safer.
In 2015, we worked on a significant maintenance project to improve the Wellington Museum.
The Begonia House in the Botanic Garden was earthquake strengthened in 2012 to make it stronger and safer.
The Karori Cemetery chapels and crematorium were earthquake strengthened from March to October 2016.
We did essential earthquake-strengthening work on Hataitai bus tunnel in 2015.
In 2018, we completed earthquake strengthening work on the Northland Tunnel entrances and adjacent retaining walls.
