Breaker Bay seawall construction

We are constructing a seawall on Breaker Bay Road.

About the project

We are constructing a new 42-metre seawall on Breaker Bay Road, 70-metre north of 53 Breaker Bay Road.

This installation includes reinforcing concrete piles, anchors and precast concrete wall panels, as well as constructing a temporary retaining wall to facilitate permanent works.

Work will began Monday 30 January 2023. Due to weather delays and challenging conditions, the planned completion date has been extended to early to mid-August 2023

Retaining and Civil Construction Limited will carry out this work.

Traffic management

During construction, traffic management will be operational around the worksite. The road will always remain open for vehicle, cyclist and pedestrian access. The road will be under the control of a portable traffic light. Traffic controllers may direct traffic during working hours.

You will still be able to access the beach, but part of the Breaker Bay car park area will be unavailable for the duration of the project as the carpark will form part of the work site. Any vehicles obstructing work areas or traffic, may be towed to a nearby suitable area.
