Johnston Street to close for tower crane erection

21 July 2015

Johnston Street, between Featherston Street and Customhouse Quay in central Wellington, is to be closed for two days from Sunday (19 July) night to allow the erection of a tower crane to be used in the demolition of BP House and the construction of a new building on the site.

The section of street has to be closed to make room for a 350-tonne mobile crane that will be used to install the tower crane.

Johnston Street will be closed from 8pm, Sunday 19 July. Weather permitting, the work will be completed by 6am on Wednesday 22 July and the road reopened then or earlier.
