Virtual ward meeting, starting 7 o’clock tonight, on Wellington’s 10-year plan

1 April 2015

Tonight Wellington City Council is holding its first ever virtual ward meeting – get online, ask questions and have your say!

As part of the draft 10-year plan consultation process, the Council wants feedback and submissions from the public. As well as holding traditional ward meetings, the Council is embracing the digital space, and going to the people, via the internet.
The virtual wards will enable Wellingtonians to use social media channels (Twitter and Facebook) to ask the Council and Councillors questions about the draft 10-year plan and have them answered in real-time.

The first virtual meeting starts at 7pm and will be open till 9pm.

Members of the Council’s executive leadership team will be available to answer questions. The Mayor and Councillors have also been encouraged to participate.

Members of the public can connect with us in the following ways:

By joining in the #askWCC Virtual Ward Meeting Event on Facebook and posting questions on the page -
Or via Twitter, using the hashtag #askWCC.

A second virtual meeting will be held on Thursday 9 April.
