New Cockayne Centre at Otari-Wilton's Bush

22 April 2014

On Monday 28 April, we’ll be starting work to transform the ex-curator’s house at Otari-Wilton’s Bush into the Cockayne Centre – a hub for visitors, events, education and research – further improving the visitor experience at Otari.

The revamped house will have new spaces for events and meetings, new public toilets will be built and a large deck looking toward native forest will serve as an outdoor classroom.

The gardens around the house will showcase native plants suitable for home gardens.

“We’re excited to open the doors to the revamped house for visitors at our open day this September,” says Otari- Wilton’s Bush Manager Rewi Elliot.
