Run in the Senshu Marathon 2014

22 October 2013

If you are a serious, long-distance runner and have always wanted to visit Japan then we would like to hear from you.

The Wellington Sakai Association and Wellington City Council are looking for two marathon runners to represent the Capital in the 2014 Senshu International City Marathon in Osaka, Japan next February.

The successful applicant will travel free to Japan, staying three nights in a hotel and three nights in a Japanese homestay, and run the marathon on Sunday 16 February 2014.

Aiko Collins, the Council's International Project Coordinator says, "We are grateful to Sakai for inviting us to participate the iconic marathon in Osaka in the 20th anniversary year of Sister city relationship. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Wellingtonian to become ambassador for the city by running in the marathon."

The deadline for entry in the competition is Friday 25 October. To enter, download and complete the form below then listen to Newstalk ZB's 'All Sports Breakfast', 7-9am, Saturday 9 November, when the winner will be announced.
