Nominate a Local Hero

9 July 2013

We’re calling for nominations for the ninth annual Safety in the City Awards, which recognise Wellingtonians who have shown amazing bravery in a particular situation, or who have worked tirelessly to keep Wellington safe.

This year there’s a special incentive - all nominators go in the draw to win two special Wellington City passes, offering a free return Cable Car trip and entry to two of these Wellington attractions: the Zoo, Zealandia and Carter Observatory.

Among those honoured last year were professional lifesavers, police, baristas, train operators and community advocates.

The Safety in the City Awards will be presented at a ceremony in the Town Hall on Wednesday 4 September.

Nominees must be Wellington City residents, and nominations should include:

  • the name, address (if known) and contact details of the person or organisation
  • a description of what they did or do
  • a short biography
  • your own name, address and contact details.

Send your nominations in before Wednesday 31 July - phone 803 8200, post to PO Box 2199, Wellington, or email emma.titcombe@wcc.govt.nz
