Funding for Heritage Building Owners

11 June 2013

We have funding available to help keep heritage buildings in good repair and are particularly keen to hear from owners planning to earthquake-strengthen their properties.

A grant from our Built Heritage Incentive Fund could help meet the costs of your initial engineering assessment, securing an earthquake-prone heritage feature of your building or strengthening work.

Heritage building owners have two opportunities a year to apply and applications for the latest funding round must be in by 31 July.

The fund is in place to help conserve, restore and protect the city’s heritage-listed buildings and our priority at the moment is supporting projects that will help make the city stronger and safer.

In the last round, we assisted 11 building owners and approved grants totalling $235,000.

We’ve changed the criteria so building owners can now apply even if they have had a grant approved in the past three years.
