Activities set out in our draft plan will impact Wellingtonians of all ages
This is your chance to comment on a range of issues facing the city - like how important it is for us to focus on making our city more resilient, how much we should spend on community facilities and what your rates should be.
So far, we have received over 500 submissions from residents and organisations and we're looking forward to receiving more before the consultation closes.
This Thursday (17 May), we're running our final Long Term Plan hotline session. You can share your views with an elected member about what we should focus on in the future, and ask questions about what we have planned for the city. Call (04) 801 4205 from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Thursday to be part of the session.

Submission hearings on the draft plan will run from Monday to Thursday next week (21 - 24 May). Hearings are open to the public. For more information, see:

This year, we are offering submitters the choice of presenting their views to the Council in a traditional hearing format where submitters speak to a Committee or through an informal group discussion. In the second instance, a Councillor is also present at the group discussion and notes are recorded and shared with other Councillors.
The Council will review the draft Long Term Plan in June once hearings are complete and decide whether any changes are needed to the plan. The final version of the draft Long Term Plan is expected to be adopted on 27 June.
Changes to rates and fees and charges for next year take effect from 1 July.
So if you have strong views on something we do, something we spend money on, your rates levels, or anything else we're consulting on in the draft Long Term Plan, now's your chance.
