It's Time to Register Your Dog
7 June 2011
All dogs over three months old must be registered by Friday 1 July. If your dog has been registered before, you should have received a re-registration form for you to check, sign and return to us, with your payment.
If you're registering your dog for the first time, you can download a registration form from our website, or visit our service centre on Wakefield Street to complete the registration in person.
Don't forget that all puppies over three months old must be fitted with a microchip. All registered dogs receive a plastic tag to wear. If your dog goes missing, the tag helps us identify it and contact you.
We don't make a profit from dog registration fees. Everything we receive goes back into our services - including running the dog shelter at Moa Point and responding to wandering or aggressive dogs. We also offer training classes to help you improve your dog's behaviour.
Late registrations are charged an extra 50 percent - so it really pays to get your form in on time.
