Mobility Parks

You can't miss them now - some of the central business distrct-based mobility parks are bright blue - making them stand out a mile on Grey Street.

The blue-painted parks are a trial in the central city to see if they help deter people from parking where they shouldn't. We hope they will help motorists identify parks reserved for those with accessibility needs.

We've already started trialling the blue parks in Island Bay and Newtown. A few motorists who usually use mobility parks have called us to make sure the rules for using the parks haven't changed - this is the case.

We want to know what you think. Does the blue work? Does it deter you from parking there? If you usually park in mobility parks - are you finding they are available more often?

If the trial is successful, we'll paint all 120-plus mobility parks bright blue.

You can also pick up a map from either our Service Centre, or the i-Site Centre - both on Wakefield Street - which shows the location of all the city's mobility parks.
