The Inspire Wellington award went to Peter Bush, who has been photographing rugby for over 60 years.

Many New Zealanders and rugby fans will have seen his photographs documenting the All Blacks and other teams over the years. A retrospective exhibition of his work, Hard on the Heels, will be on display at the Museum of Wellington City and Sea during Rugby World Cup 2011.

The Inspire Wellington Ambassador award went to Steve Walters, general manager of the NZI Sevens.

Steve was recognised for his work promoting the NZI Sevens - securing the event for the capital for another five years, and winning it international recognition.

Both awards are sponsored by Wellington City Council. The Gold Awards have been held every year since 1999 to recognise enterprise and excellence in Wellington business.
