Teddy Bears' Picnic Postponed Until Sunday
27 January 2011
Originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, the Teddy Bears' Picnic will now take place on Sunday 30 January.
Event organisers are concerned that the cyclone heading for the North Island this weekend will result in severe weather but that it's likely to clear up by Sunday.
The event will now take place on Sunday from 12 noon until 4.45pm at Frank Kitts Park.
Entertainment on the day includes Zappo the Magician, Funky Monkeys, Harry the Clown and The Crocodettes. And there'll be face painting, Little Dribblers Football and rides.
The Frank Kitts Underground Market was scheduled to hold a special creative kids themed market to complement the Teddy Bears' Picnic on Saturday. That will still go ahead. Doors are open from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Some stallholders from the market will also attend Sunday's event. Their stalls will be outside on Frank Kitts Promenade.
Teddy Bears' Picnic is part of the NZCT Summer City festival. Full details can be found in the Summer City brochures - available from City Council pools, recreation centres and stands around town.
