Home Energy Advice Centre

22 November 2010

Spring and summer months might seem a strange time to think about how to make your home warmer and healthier but it's a great way to get your power bills down and avoid the winter wait for heating and insulation installers.

Free, impartial advice is just a phone call or email away. The Home Energy Advice Centre, which was set up with assistance from Wellington City Council, offers energy-related advice on things like insulation, heating, hot water and ventilation, and can help you find the cheapest electricity retailer and pricing plan for your home.

They can also advise you about financial assistance available through the Government's Warm Up New Zealand scheme for heating and insulation and help you beat the winter rush for it.

If you're renting, they'll make practical suggestions about things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint and energy bills.
