Aqua Zumba Makes a Splash at Keith Spry Pool
15 November 2010
Fitness sensation Zumba is about to make a splash with Aqua Zumba classes being offered for the first time in New Zealand at Keith Spry Pool in Johnsonville.
The pool will introduce the 45 - 60 minute classes from this Wednesday (17 November) which mixes the Latin infused dance-exercise with water aerobics.
Matt Kilgour, Keith Spry Pool manager, says people can expect the same high energy Zumba workout accompanied by up-beat music, but with the added benefit of a workout with water resistance.
"Aqua Zumba makes exercising seem like a pool party. It incorporates dance and fitness moves and makes it fun for anyone who likes to exercise in water. Water adds resistance to a workout so it's good for those who want to work a little harder and easier on the joints."
People can join up for a casual class which costs $10.30, $5.10 with a Leisure Card or $92.70 for a 10-class concessions card.
The Aqua Zumba concept was created by International Fitness and Aqua Aerobics expert, Mimi Rodriguez Adami along with founder and creator of Zumba, Beto Perez.
