Registering Your Dog
14 June 2010
It's that time of the year again - dog registration time. Dogs must be registered when they're three months old and registration is due by 1 July every year - so you have a couple of weeks left to take action. If you're registering a dog for the first time it must be microchipped.

Registered dogs get a Council identification tag to wear. If your beloved pooch gets lost and is wearing the tag, we'll get in touch with you.
You can also take advantage of our free dog training classes and receive advice, such as how to prevent biting.
We put the money we get from registration back into our services, such as responding to calls about wandering dogs or dog attacks and removing aggressive dogs from the streets, so you and your dog can walk in safety.
Dog registration forms for new registrations are available in the Dogs section of this website and at our service centre at 101 Wakefield Street.
