We've noticed we're fast becoming something of a city of markets.

Meanwhile, here's a brief run-down:

Frank Kitts Art Market

10.00am - 4.00pm Saturdays, car park underneath Frank Kitts Park. More than 80 stalls selling arts and crafts - mostly made right here in Wellington.

Harbourside Market

7.30am - 1.00pm Sundays, corner of Cable and Barnett streets - next to Te Papa. Fruit and vegetable stalls, free-range eggs, delicious breads, cheeses and takeaway food.

City Market

8.30am - 12.30pm Sundays, undercover in the Atrium, Chaffers Dock Building, 1 Herd Street. This indoor market has top-quality local cuisine, wine tastings, chef demonstrations and entertainment.

Hill Street Farmers' Market

9.00am - 1.00pm Saturdays, Thorndon. Features a range of quality fresh produce and connects customers with regional food makers.

Victoria Street Market

6.00am - 1.30pm Sundays, corner of Victoria and Vivian streets. Fruit and vegetable stalls, free-range pork, gluten-free bread, delicious herbs, fish and more.
