Mayoral Day Concert

3 November 2009

Wellington's senior citizens are the guests of honour at the annual Mayoral Concert for Honoured Citizens in the Town Hall on Sunday 8 November, at 2.00pm.

The free event is hosted by Mayor Kerry Prendergast and concert-goers will be entertained by local performers including the Mission Choir and the RNZAF jazz band.

The concert will feature show tunes from Cats, jazz, old-time favourites and contemporary sounds.

No tickets are needed so just come along on the day - there's plenty of room for everyone. There will be free refreshments at the interval and spot prizes.

Senior citizens and their families or caregivers are all welcome.

The first Mayoral Day Concert was held in 2004. The concerts aim to celebrate the city and promote community life.
