Can you offer advice on Wellington's environment?

Wellington City Council’s Environmental Reference Group is currently seeking up to eight new members. The group has up to 15 community members and is supported by a designated City Councillor. The role of the group is to advise the Council during the developmental stages of policy on topics such as: biodiversity, energy, transport management, urban design, waste, and water. 

We are seeking applicants who have an awareness of and enthusiasm for natural or built environmental issues and are able to represent a wide range of interests, have a broad knowledge of issues affecting people’s quality of life, can think issues through logically, and contribute effectively to strategic discussions. 

You are eligible to join the group if you live in the greater Wellington area. The role includes attending formal monthly meetings at Council offices at Tahiwi 113 The Terrace. Meetings run from 5pm to 7pm. Members receive an allowance for attending these meetings. From time to time additional meetings may be necessary.

If you are interested in being involved with the group please apply in writing outlining why you believe you would be a good candidate.  A formal CV can be submitted, but is not required. Please also provide the names of two referees and their contact details.
