RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE THE PUBLIC:

THAT the Strategy and Policy Committee:

Pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, exclude the public from the following part of the proceedings of this meeting namely:

REPORT 6: Review of Council Controlled Organisations – Further Recommendations

Grounds: Section 48(1) (a) – That public conduct of the whole or the relevant part of the proceedings would likely to result in the disclosure of information for which good reason for withholding would exist

Reason: Section 7(2)(a) – to protect the privacy of natural persons, including that of natural deceased persons
Section 7(b)(ii) – protect information where the making available of the information would be likely to unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject of the information.

REPORT 7: Newlands Community Centre Update

Grounds: Section 48(1)(a) – That public conduct of the whole or the relevant part of the proceedings would likely to result in the disclosure of information for which good reason for withholding would exist

Reason: Section 7(2)(c) – Protect information which is subject to an obligation of confidence or which any person has been or could be compelled to provide under the authority of any enactment, where the making available of that information –

(ii) Would be likely to damage the public interest

Section 7(2)(i) – Enable any local authority holding the information to carry on without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations (Including commercial and industrial negotiations)

Note: Strategy and Policy Committee meetings have pre-meeting sessions which are open to the public, unless an item is 'public excluded. The sessions are ordinarily held two days prior to the actual Committee meeting. Councillors use the sessions to prepare for meetings.
