Malcolm Sparrow is a third-term city councillor representing the Takapu/Northern ward. He was previously chair of the Tawa Community Board, to which he was first elected in 2005.
Malcolm holds the Community Resilience and Emergency Preparedness portfolio and is chair of the Regulatory Processes committee.
He and his wife, Karen, are Sparrows in an "empty nest", but have two adult daughters and a grandchild in the Wellington region. Malcolm is very involved in his local community, he enjoys amateur photography, travelling and exploring New Zealand, 'easy' off-road cycling, and regular walks in the local bush with his dog.
