Candidate statement

As councillor for my community, Takapū Northern Ward, in 2016-19, I helped prioritise the Newlands Park redevelopment (now Pukehuia Park), actively supported new club facilities at Alex Moore Park, led additions to the Outer Green Belt in Johnsonville/Churton Park and Tawa, and was an ever-present participant in activities throughout the ward. I have led the planting by volunteers of 30,000 native trees in parks and schools in Newlands, Paparangi and Grenada Village. In my career, as a scientist, teacher, and funder, I have managed tens of millions of dollars of funding in research and education. I was on the WCC Grants Committee and currently am on the committee of the North Wellington Voluntary Service Awards. I fully support the aims of the HMCT to support health and wellbeing across all of our society, and request your number one vote, for an effective trustee who knows and cares about our community.
