September is Bee Aware Month and each year there’s a real buzz around here as we help raise awareness of the crucial role bees play in our lives.

The bee population in New Zealand contributes about $5 billion to our economy annually and supports about one third of everything we eat.

Every September, Wellington City Council and Apiculture NZ (ApiNZ) is invite the whole community to get involved to help raise awareness about the importance of bees to our food and ecosystems.

Come back to this page in the late winter to learn about the bee events happening around the capital, join in the fun and help spread the word about ways to help our buzzy friends!
