The Discovery Garden is opening for school visits from Term 4, October 2017.
Education sessions will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The garden is being built on a 1,500 square metre hill-side site near the Treehouse Visitor Centre and plant nursery.
The main entrance is the Trench, close to the Treehouse Visitor Centre. There is also an entrance at the top of the garden near the Cable Car and Children's Playground.
Disability access is temporarily limited to entry through the main Trench up to the Learning Pavilion and the upper part of the Lotions and Potions area of the garden.
Please note that the majority of paths in the Wellington Botanic Garden are naturally steep and visitors with a walking disability may require assistance to get to the Discovery Garden. If arriving from Glenmore Street a lift is available near the Fragrant Garden rising to the Treehouse level.
Our priority, in phase three construction of the garden, is to provide disability access from the top of the Discovery Garden linking through to the main Plaza.
