COVID: Services and facilities at Orange

At Orange, all Council facilities and offices are open with most services running, following the required health and safety checks.

Visiting Council sites at Orange

Wellington is now in Orange settings

We are using the COVID Vaccine Pass to protect people who are unable to be vaccinated (children under 12 years of age or those with a medical exemption) and help reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading across our indoor facilities.

For everyone’s comfort and safety when visiting our facilities, please:

  • Mask – Wear a mask if you are 12 years and over - unless you hold an exemption card. You can remove masks to eat and drink, and when exercising or swimming.
  • Scan – Scan in using the NZ COVID Tracer app when visiting any of Council’s indoor sites. This applies to visitors, contractors and couriers visiting our spaces.
  • Pass – Show staff your COVID Vaccine Pass when visiting any of the Council's indoor sites. This applies to visitors, contractors and couriers visiting our spaces.
  • Be kind – Most customer facing staff will be wearing masks unless they are not required to for safety reasons, or have an exemption. Be kind to our staff who are doing their best to offer our full range of services and facilities.

We suggest that you:

  • leave a little earlier for classes or events to avoid any queues during peak times
  • follow the directions of our staff so we can check people in as quickly as possible
  • wash your hands regularly and use hand sanitiser
  • use EFTPOS or other contactless payments if you can. We will accept cash but prefer not to for hygiene reasons.

Swimming pools

We are now open and operating with COVID Vaccine Pass and contact tracing.

  • The requirement to scan vaccine passes is going to slow things down initially, so please be patient and allow extra time.
  • To speed things up, make sure you have your COVID Vaccine Pass handy as you approach the facility.
  • Our pools are back to normal capacity now, and booking is no longer required for recreational swimming.
  • Some pools will open reduced hours between Friday 3 December and Sunday 5 December.
  • Lane timetables will be available from Monday 6 December on our pool pages.
