COVID-19: Services and facilities - Alert Level 2

Find out what's happening with our services and facilities at Alert Level 2.

Alert Level 2, most Council facilities and offices are open and services running, but with some restrictions in place.

For a full list and details of all impacted services and facilities please see below.

Visiting Council sites at Alert Level 2

To keep everyone safe when visiting any of our facilities under Alert Level 2, please:

  • Wear a mask if you are 12 years and over - unless you hold an exemption card. You can remove masks to eat and drink, and when exercising or swimming.
  • Most customer facing staff will also be wearing masks unless they are not required to for safety reasons.
  • Scanning or signing in is a condition of entry for all Council facilities and venues. This applies to visitors, contractors and couriers entering our spaces.
  • Most sites will need to limit the number of visitors to provide 2 metres social distancing for them - please follow the signs and guidance of our staff.
  • Use EFTPOS or other contactless payments if you can. We will accept cash but prefer not to for hygiene reasons.
  • Please follow the guidance of our staff and signage to keep everyone safe when sharing our spaces.
  • As the Health Order we are following has not been released by central government, this guidance may be subject to change.

Thank you for help in keeping COVID-19 down and Wellington open. Kia kaha!

Swimming pools

Pool space is limited as we adjust to the Delta Level 2 restrictions. Please keep your swim short, be patient, and be prepared that we may be restricting entry if maximum capacity is reached. We’re providing limited bookable ‘pods’ for recreational swimming at Karori, Keith Spry, Tawa and WRAC. See the drop downs for each pool for info on how to book. During Aquafit class times lane space may be limited, please check the timetables on our Club Active website to avoid these times.

We encourage you to minimise use of the changing facilities and showers, and get changed at home where possible.
