What happened to this consultation?
Unfortunately, due the budget constraints for a neighbourhood play area, it was not possible to include a shade mechanism or further lighting.
Construction for this project was meant to start in early October 2021, but is now schedule for mid-November 2021.
We’re renewing Nuku Street Play Area to make it an even better place to play. In February we put a draft concept out for community feedback.
From this feedback we are keeping with the main features of the concept design, and the biggest improvement will be moving to a larger all-weather safety surface. We will also be adding a rubbish bin and a toddler swing.
