A waka at sea.

Te reo Māori is an integral part of who we are as a country and as a city. We want to lead the way in making this part of the cultural fabric of our city.

About the policy

The draft policy is a public statement of Council’s commitment to te reo Māori, an acknowledgement of the mana of Māori culture and values, joint history and the whakapapa of our rohe / region.

Action plan

We’ll be developing an action plan to put the policy into practice and we’d like to get your ideas on that, too.
