Create safe pedestrian crossings at walkways linking Upland Road, Central Terrace and Glasgow Street

Petition details

The crossing on linking Central Terrace and Upland Road is dangerous as cars speed up the road. At Glasgow Street, crossing safely is extremely difficult as there is so little visibility. These are very busy walkways used by people from Kelburn, Northland, Highbury and Karori walking to the university & city.

Background information

A possible solution would be to install speed humps on Central terrace to slow the traffic. On Glasgow street a pedestrian island could be installed in the middle of the road, preferably with a crossing on either side of it as we have in the Kelburn village.
