Karori Cemetery as a "Wuff Wuff Ruff" Monday-Friday 7.30-11.30am

Petition details

This petition requests that responsible dog owners are able to use the Karori Cemetery as an official dog exercise area during specific times. I propose that these times would be Monday-Friday 7.30am-11.30am. When there are burials taking place then this would overide the "Woof Woof Ruff"status of the area. Outside of these times dogs must be on leads.

Background information

There are so few areas in Wellington that are sheltered and pleasant to walk your dog off the lead. This is the natural way to exercise an animal. The official status of a "Wuff Wuff Ruff" given to the cemetery for limited days and times would insure that dog owners and their dogs would be able to exercise in a much easier manner than having a dog straining on a lead. During the weekends and after 11.30am people who require assurance that all dogs will be on leads can be confident of this.
