Follow Government advice
- If you leave home you must wear a mask around other people and in public places like shops and libraries as well as on public transport. You must also sign in or scan the QR code as requested.
- Be kind to staff in businesses as they get used to the number of people that are allowed in their premises.
- If you’re sick, stay home. Don’t go to work or school. Don’t socialise.
- If you have a cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 and get advice about being tested.
- Keep a record of where you have been, use the NZ COVID Tracer app

Tenant welfare needs
Call MSD if you urgently need groceries or other essential household items, like nappies and sanitary products, and they will let you know how they can help you. You can contact MSD even if you are not an existing customer.

Please respect any requests as we want to make sure these can be done safely and in accordance with any government requirements. What's closed and what's open at your housing complex
Community rooms are closed
Community rooms are closed. Some tenant services may continue to operate in these rooms with prior approval from City Housing.
Playgrounds and barbecue areas are open
You and your children will need to keep 2 metres from others during Alert Level 2. If they are busy, wait until there are fewer people. This includes community gardens.
Laundry and mail rooms are open
These are open and available for tenants to use – please remember the social distancing rules of two metres and consider wearing a mask. Extra cleaning is still being done in these spaces. Please respect other people’s personal space and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds before and after you use these rooms. If the rooms are busy, wait until there are fewer people. Please keep to these guidelines so we can keep these rooms open.
Maintenance, rubbish and cleaning
Call us on 04 499 4444 to log maintenance requests as usual, or you can use the FIXiT app. Our contractors will resume work in your homes and have the necessary health and safety procedures in place, but we ask that you respect any requests they make when they attend your property.
Rubbish and recycling collection
Rubbish and recycling collections remain the same at Alert Level 2 – so please dispose of your general rubbish and recycling as you always do, safely into the correct waste or recycling bins.
At Alert Level 2, our cleaning contractors will continue to do additional extra cleaning on surfaces that are frequently touched, such as lift buttons, exit buttons, handrails and in common areas including laundries and mail rooms as required.

Rent payments at the Service Centre
At Level 2 we cannot accept cash rent payments. Please contact your bank or your Tenancy Advisor to discuss how you can pay your rent.
