COVID-19: Update for City Housing tenants

Information for our tenants during Alert Level 1.

Follow Government advice

  • We are now at Alert Level 1. It is still worthwhile to keep a safe distance from people you don’t know while you’re out and about. This will help to minimise the spread of COVID-19 if community transmission returns. Stay home if you’re sick, wash your hands, cough or sneeze into your elbow, keep surfaces clean.
  • Keep up good hand washing practices, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and drying thoroughly. Cough and sneeze into your elbow. Keep surfaces clean.
  • If you are sick call your GP or Healthline to book a free COVID-19 test, and get tested if asked.
  • Keep a record of where you have been, use NZ COVID Tracer app.
  • The latest information can be found on or the Unite Against Covid social media channels

If you choose to self-isolate for any reason, please let your Tenancy Advisor know so we can work with you to help you.

We are here to help

If you need to contact us urgently about your tenancy or other concerns:

What's closed and what's open at your housing complex

Community rooms are open

Community rooms are open. Events and gatherings in Community Rooms need to ensure they have a system for contact tracing. We will have QR codes to scan at each Community Room, otherwise paper records will need to be kept to record visitors.

Playgrounds and barbecue areas are open

Where possible, you and your children should keep a safe distance from people you don’t know while out and about.

Laundry and mail rooms are open

If the rooms are busy, please wait until there are fewer people so you can continue to keep a safe distance.

Wearing face coverings

Continuing good habits with face coverings will keep you and others safe, even at Alert Level 1 when it’s no longer compulsory.

The City Housing team and contractors may still wear a mask when they are working. If you want our team to wear a mask, please let them know and they will be happy to put one on.

Cleaning contractors will revert to their normal cleaning routine.
