What you will need
To complete this form, you will need to provide us with the full name of everyone living in your home and upload proof of income and assets.
Please have all this information prepared before starting the form.
Proof of income will need to be uploaded/attached to this form. It can be a copy of:
- payslips that show how much you usually earn if you are working
- a breakdown of any Work and Income payments you receive
- StudyLink payments
- bank statements that show your regular income if you are a wage earner
- your IRD summary of earnings for the last 12 months.
You only need to upload one document for each person, but it needs to show us the ongoing income of everyone aged over 18.
The information you provide is protected under the Privacy Act 1993 and may be disclosed to other persons/agencies if required by law. You have the right to see the information City Housing holds about you and to seek to have it corrected if you believe it is wrong.
Why we carry out tenancy reviews
We provide discounted housing for those in need. It’s important that we have accurate information about our tenants to make sure you are paying the right amount of rent.
We also want to make sure you continue to have the right housing for your needs and that we have the correct contact details for you in case of an emergency.
There are some possible changes as a result of your review
The review is to ensure that you continue to have the right housing for your needs. Depending on the results, for example if your housing situation has changed, your rent discount may change in line with this.
If your income or assets are higher than the amount allowed, your rent discount may be reduced or removed. We will talk to you about this and give you lots of notice before the amount you need to pay changes.
What happens if you do not complete a review
We need the information from the review to confirm your housing situation, and therefore rent, is still the same. If you don’t complete and return your Tenancy Review form, your rent discount could be removed. This means the rent you pay will increase to the full market rate.
