Our pools are back to normal operation.

  • Physical distancing is not required, but contact tracing using the app is still encouraged.  
  • We will be back to single lanes.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 6am-9pm and Saturday/Sunday 7am-7pm.

This facility has a 50-metre heated indoor pool, diving pool, toddlers' pool and spray water-play area, hydrotherapy pool, gym, spas and saunas. We offer swimming lessons for adults and children.

  • 50-metre heated indoor pool, including diving pool (27°C)
  • Hydrotherapy pool (33 °C)
  • Three spa pools (38°C) - the miniumum age to use these is five years and older 
  • Programmes pool (32.5 °C)
  • Toddlers' pool (32°C)
  • Spray water-play area (31 °C), with spray jets and an animated aquarium screen.

Lane / pool hire

You can book out swimming lanes or the full pool for your event or activities. 

Non-commercial fees: $8.20 per hour for a 25m lane; $16.40 for a 50m lane. Commercial fees are double.

Aquatic Café

Open between 6am and 5.30pm daily, we serve breakfast, lunch, a kids' menu and ice creams. Catering can be booked for groups by calling 04 387 8901.

You may bring snacks for small children into the centre, but no commercial food. 


Club Activeprovides users with open gym space, personal training, group fitness and spin classes across two facilities Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre and Freyberg Pool and Fitness Centre.


You can secure your things in one of our free lockable cubby holes by the main pool. Bring your own padlock or purchase a padlock for $12. 

Valuables tray
You can keep small items safe at reception - just ask for a free valuables tray. We'll give you a tag which you can hand back when you want to collect your items.


Two saunas, one male and one female. The minimum age to use these is 16 years and older. 

Swim shop

We sell swimwear and swimming accessories for all ages. We also sell Huggies Little Swimmers and Zoggs resuable nappies for infants.


Available from reception - buy a towel for $7.


There is a small car park in front of the building, and an additional car park. If this is full, there is parking on the street.


We have 10 mobility car parks in the car park area. To find out how to get a mobility parking permit, see: Mobility parking.

The facility is wheelchair accessible to the 50-metre pool and the hydrotherapy pool. The Spray water-play area has a beach entry. 

We have 11 accessible changing rooms, 7 with accessible showers and toilets. There is a lift to the Club Active gym.

We also have a hoist to lift people from the changing room into the hydrotherapy pool.
