What happened to this consultation?
We sought your feedback on on two possible locations for a proposed new play area in Berhampore:
- Location A - near the clubrooms building or the old putting tee on Wakefield Park (sports field side).
- Location B - on the eastern side of the Berhampore golf course between the existing skate park and the south coast kids trail bike track.
We received 169 responses. 156 favoured option B, and eight favoured option A. There were four neutrals and one for neither location. This represents a 92% preference for location B.
We then developed a draft plan, which went out for public consultation in August 2018. Construction was completed, and the new Te Papa Tākaro o Jim Belich (Jim Belich Playground) was opened in 2019.
