Proposed changes

During the consultation on the Alcohol Control Bylaw last year, many members of the public submitted in favour of extending the alcohol control area to include Kilbirnie and Kelburn. The Council voted to consult with the community on the proposal of creating an Alcohol Ban Area in these suburbs.

The Council engaged with the relevant stakeholders and communities in these areas and sought your views on the proposal for the following areas:

  • the Kilbirnie area, bordered by Mahora Street, Coutts Street, Childers Terrace, Evans Bay Parade (from Kemp Street) and Rongotai Road
  • Kilbirnie Park and surrounding streets
  • Kelburn Park

Boundaries of the proposed alcohol ban areas can be found in the Statement of Proposal document:
