School Holiday Programmes

15 April 2014

Banish boredom over the term break with Wellington City Council school holiday programmes.

For all kids aged between five and twelve, full care programmes are provided by our recreation centres, with fun holiday activities also available at the Botanic Garden and your local library.

At ASB Sports Centre, the team will keep them moving with a range of activities and games. Kids with a passion for sport will be sorted with sporting skills, fun and run activities, right through to futsal, netball, and basketball-specific  programmes.

For a balance of arts, crafts and relaxation, the recreation centres in Karori, Nairnville and Tawa offer a great spread of activities. These programmes include theme days featuring science challenges, board game strategies and sports. Day trips are on the agenda, whether it’s Laserforce or hobbit-themed treasure hunts.

Kids who want to show off their inner superhero will love creating their own comic dice at the Central Library comic caper escapades leading up to ComicFest (2–3 May).

But if they just want to get their hands dirty, the Botanic Garden will be the perfect spot to dig right in and learn about making their own garden.

Please note that school holiday programmes run from 22–24 April, then 28 April–2 May.
